The SBPA Did It Again!

Once again the Somerville Business and Professional Association brought community spirit and a boost to the local economy by hosting the Fall Street Fair last Sunday.

Street Fair organizer Darryl Walker reported, “Yes, the Street Fair was great! And the vendors did very well. The economy was booming in downtown Somerville on Sunday! The restaurants were all packed with customers too.”

SBPA Street Fairs attract as many as 50,000 customers from all over New Jersey and out of state. Street fair vendors are always busy and enjoy the opportunity to meet customers in person and promote their local and online businesses. Great food and entertainment and fun for the whole family!

Looking forward to the next SBPA Street Fair? Keep checking back for more info and an updated application.

Paul Sanford Scholarships Awarded!

Somerville Business and Professional Association Representative Asha Martin of Fulton Bank presented two Paul Sanford Music Scholarship checks for $1500 each to Bridgette LeBouf of Immaculata High School and Jalen Scott of Somerville High School.

Congratulations Bridgette and Jalen!

The Paul Sanford Scholarship is a music scholarship awarded for involvement in holiday music and school music programs.

The scholarships, awarded by the SBPA, are named in honor of Paul Sanford who had served as president of the SBPA for several years.

Paul operated Sanford Jewelers on West Main Street before retiring several years ago.

Sadly, Paul passed in October of 2016.
